Today, my father called me and told me to look out for the “surprise” when I got home. I was puzzled because I wondered what was new.

.

Then when I reached home both my doors and the extra room’s door was locked. I asked my mum why, and she said it’s because my dad thinks both the rooms are ugly compared to their room (they just got a new set of furniture). So after admiring my parent’s room, I opened my door to find…

.

.

…this! Okay you probably don’t get what’s different because none of you have seen my room before. But…I got a new set of bedroom furniture too! Used to have a single bed – now I got a new double bed, side table, wardrobe and a full length mirror!!! And surprisingly, I like them a lot. All white. My style. xD

.

Feels kind of sad though, cause I had my single bed with me ever since I started sleeping on my own – which was about four years old I think. I’m still using my pillow from then. :P

.

Fuck me though! This new set is awesome. It goes pretty damn well with my new study table which is also – you guessed it! – white.

.

Now for some white book shelves, white floor skirtings and it’ll all be good. x)

5 Theta BBQ August 14, 2009

Filed under: Contented, Events — ponnie @ 3:03 pm

A few weeks ago Balqis – the class’ artist – posted up an old drawing she did of all of us in 5 Theta. Those who see me in house clothes probably know which one. It’s the same drawing on my class tshirt. So anyway, almost all of us were tagged in Facebook, and this sparked a sudden desire for a reunion!

It was all so random and impromptu. I know it has been three years (omg so long), and we’ve always talked about a reunion but never got around to doing it. The Balqis suggested a barbeque at her house, and it was all set.

There were 42 people in my class. 21 people agreed to come. During the last minute, 4 people backed out. In the end, only 13 people turned up. Wtf. Some of them who agreed to come and didn’t come either forgot or had other responsibilities at the last minute.

Nonetheless, we had a good time. Balqis, your cooking is good! Loved the lamb!

Sabrina, Shereen and I. In form 4, I was the class monitor and Sabrina was the assistant. Haha. Good times, good times. I remember how I volunteered to be the class monitor because nobody wanted to (and also because I wanted a post…any post). Though the position turned out to be a very big responsibility, I think I made a right choice because I managed to communicate with everyone in class.

In my high school, form 4 marks the start of different streams, and where the students previously from Chinese schools and Malay schools are placed in the same class. From form 1 to 3, we were all separated. You could say some of us didn’t know each other, unless you’re quite the active in clubs.

Group picture minus Shereen. Damn lah compression’s such a bitch. The picture’s a bit smoky from the barbeque…

We decided to go out to the garden for more fresh air. Balqis’ house is really nice! A lot of the guys in my class has changed lah. Like, who would’ve expected Taufiq to be a law student now? I still find it hard to believe. Haha. He was the ultimate class clown, and though he was really annoying back in form 4, he was still funny. Then in form 5 I didn’t want the class monitor post anymore, so I gladly passed it to him since he had been after my post in form 4. He regretted it. *smug*

Then look at Jalal and Sean now. They used to be such small skinny boys back in form 5 *cough*. Jalal is sooo buffed now, and Sean’s not half bad either. Got muscles already weih!

Balqis used to be really quiet in class. I’m so happy to see she’s so much more talkative now! Predictably, she’s now studying animation in college.

Haha Grace. Back in high school she used to wear braces and was really conscious about smiling with her mouth open. Therefore her pictures always ended up looking constipated. LOL. She’s still inseparable with Elaine, even though Elaine is studying in Japan now. The four of us – Shereen, Grace, Elaine and I – would always sit together in class and we’d be talking nonstop! Somehow Elaine and Grace were always sitting behind Shereen and I; everytime we turn behind, they’d be looking into a mirror. Vainpots. Haha. They also always bicker about the littlest things, so Shereen and I would be sniggering in front.

I remember I once smacked Jalal on his head for taking my calculator and nearly drawing on my purikura. With the size of those arms, if he smacked my head off now I’ll be gone for sure.

My favourite picture of the night! Everyone looks so happy here. I proposed a jumping shot which sorta failed in the jump section, but most certainly not in capturing their expressions!

Shereen’s and my jumping shot. I look super fugly here, but what the heck. Damn fun lah.

Later, the four of us wanted to do a jumping shot with our hands linked, but it failed the first time and we started laughing at the silliness of it all.

The second try was okay, but the jump still wasn’t prominent.

LOL. Jump fail. Who pressed the shutter so quickly!

I also like this picture because our smiles look damn genuine. :D And that peace sign belongs to Balqis.

I wanted to take a shot with Zakhren, but then somehow people started coming in and we wanted to make Zakhren look taller than he already is. Low angle shot it is. Haha. Zakhren’s still the same, although I thought he would’ve taken up law or literature since he’s so proficient in his language. :D

Guys seem to like checks a lot, ay? At first we were making fun of Sean and Zakhren who were wearing similar prints, then Jalal and Taufiq came.

A recreation of our form 5 shot – see no evil, speak no evil, hear no evil, smell no evil. Too bad Elaine wasn’t there that day. :(

Here you go, I managed to dig up this super old photo. It’s dated allll the way back to 2006 – can’t believe it’s been 3 years! This was taken with my el cheapo camera GrandVision wtf.

Taufiq’s hair damn nice to touch. Soft one okay. Not prickly at all. *is amazed*

Then everyone wanted a share of the law goodness wtf.

Obligatory lanci picture. But somehow Grace ended up pursing her lips ala Puan Leong style. Puan Leong was our class teacher back in form 4 and 5. Notorious woman she is. I’m pretty amazed that Puan Asmahan isn’t teaching in SU anymore. I thought she was the type who’d live looong in the school.

It was me who came up with this brilliant idea to fuse someone’s long hair onto Taufiq’s bald head. That hair belongs to Hazreen. We were all in laughing fits when this was produced. My stomach hurt so bad – I still laugh when I see this. Doesn’t he look like a total hobo?!

Woot, I can has superb camwhoring skill.

Shereen looks so pretty here. I am glad we were and still are besties!

After all the eating and camwhoring, we had a game of charades. Overall, I think the best actor was Zakhren. His impersonation of Captain Jack Sparrow was classic, down to the way he runs sissily with his arms raised!

Hazreen and I. We were never really close, but she was always nice. And I always felt inferior to her back then because she was taller and had this super cool aura. :P

Later, we had ice creams. Somehow, I (again) had the idea to pose ala Blake Lively and Leighton Meester in Rolling Stone:

Needless to say, we failed terribly:

Ahem. I do like my hands though. :O

We turn one! April 20, 2009

I know I’m a bit late on posting this up. But, better late than never.

It’s been slightly more than a year since I knew him. It’s safe to say that within this past year, I got to know him very well. Most of his whims and pet peeves, where his ticklish spots are, I know them.

Everyone thinks of him as the goofball. Frankly speaking, sometimes his childishness annoys me to no end. But this is his character. And because of his childishness, I appreciate the times when he’s actually serious. You know why? Cause it’s so sexy. Hahaha.

So even though we didn’t get to have the bestest most memorable and exciting day for our anniversary, it’s okay. We don’t need to do so much just for that one special day, because everyday is special for us. And because we’re still getting to know each other, everyday is a big surprise. Just like how I thought you like everything chocolate, but you preferred banana muffins over chocolate ones.

But I still think it’s my fault we didn’t get to spend a whole day together. Sorry ler dear, you know how strict my parents are when I’m in KL. :( Mwah mwah.

So this is to us spending another year together, and then some more. Happy anniversary, Davin. :D

Nyek nyek nyek. Call me pig somemore. Only pigs sleep in class! But it’s okay. Even though you SLEPT IN THE CAR WHILE I DROVE WHEN WE WENT OUT ON A DATE I still love you. :D

Je suis étudiante! February 19, 2009

Had my first French class yesterday. It was a mixture of humour, embarrassment, surprise, confusion, and boredom.

I forgot how embarrassing and funny it is to first learn a language. With everybody getting the pronounciations wrong, I think the lecturer was probably silently pulling out his French hair in exasperation.

Oh yeah, the lecturer is a native French guy, methinks. I think his name is Dr. Assia ( I didn’t catch it, as I was a little late to class).  He’s an okay kind of guy, just that it’s a little hard to understand him as his French accent was so thick, especially when he speaks in English. Overall, he’s not bad.

Learned quite a few things yesterday! Pronounciation was very difficult though…especially for numbers. And the “r”. I can’t roll my tongue on the “r”, so for words like ‘arbre’ (that’s ‘tree’ in French :D), ‘quatre’ (four), I don’t think I can pronounce it quite correctly.

Also, the confusing thing about French is that they have different spellings for masculine and feminine words, a little bit like Mandarin. Beau for masculine and belle for feminine. (Hahaha can you tell by now that I’m showing off xD)

The surprise was that Miss Chiok was also in the French class! :O So far I didn’t see many familiar faces, just one or two Biotech students and this guy who ran for the SRC. Forgot if he got in or not. Oh well.

Classes ended at 8.30pm yesterday, so I was really tired. I slept at 11pm, woohoo! All in all I got about 11 hours of sleep, so I am really energized now. Albeit a few aches here and there.

Classes at 1pm, hence I could sleep in. Hehe :D

What we aim to do February 10, 2009

Filed under: Contented, Eat Shit Sleep Post — ponnie @ 5:54 pm

I feel very happy like, now. No, ever since after dinner. I’ve been talking in different accents, mainly the bimbotic American accent. The only accent I need to improve is the thick Indian accent. Haha. It must’ve been my classmates’ hyperness that rubbed off on me. Or perhaps it was when Mx lip synced to Whitney Houston in Lillian’s car.

But anyway, I have no particular reason to be so hyper today, other than the fact that I’ve really started appreciating my relationship with Davin.

Okay, let’s start. Reason number one why I have no reason to be hyper today is because of the 8am class. Apple and I thought we missed the bus because Bus #1 drove off as we were walking to the bus stop. It must’ve been a hilarious sight watching the both of us running and flailing our hands after the bus. Unfortunately, it’s not so funny when you have to run in heels, albeit 2 inch ones. Luckily the bus we were supposed to catch was Bus #5, teehee. My bad.

Anyway, we were early to class. I settled in the classroom for like, 10 minutes?? Then a security guard stood outside the lecture hall and beckoned for me to go out.

I was like, WTF? I didn’t know whether he was gesturing to me, or to Mx, or Ming-Y, or whoever. Anyway Mx went out. And the guard said, “Panggil itu ah moi keluar.”

Helloooo is every Chinese girl called ah moi? Can you not specify the colour of the clothes we’re wearing?

Anyway, it was me. Apparently he wanted me to write down my name and student ID because I was wearing something revealing. -_-

I was wearing a spaghetti strapped top. Yes, I know that is not the proper dress code, but for fuck’s sake I was wearing a sleeveless cardigan over it!! So I am indirectly not wearing just a spaghetti strapped top anymore!!

I wouldn’t have minded so much if the guard was a little bit nicer, but he was so freakin’ rude! Not the vulgar rude, but hostile, abrupt kind of rude. Geez. Next time I might as well just go for classes nude and see what they say. They didn’t specify that we can’t wear nothing in the dress code. Hah.

That’s not happening by the way.

Also, three hours straight of Comm Theory is excruciating, even though Ms Tan was quite the joker today. But still, it’s Comm Theory, at 8 in the morning, and three. Hours. Straight.

Halfway through class we received a memo saying that we had a replacement lecture for Multimedia Tools. Wtf. Because of that my Copywriting tutorial was pushed back by 1.5 hours. Wtf. But I don’t know why my Journalism lecture was also pushed back by half an hour making my last class end at 8pm. Wtf. Basically today, our class was from 8am-8pm. 12 freakin’ hours of uni. There went my 3.5 hours break and fantasy of sleeping.

I think the lack of sleep has put me into intense hyper mode. I need to sleep now. Like, now.

Oh btw, hi Miss Fraulina. I know you’re reading this! Mx and Apple told me you stalk my blog. Hahaha. Don’t let my other lecturers read also ok. Sshhh.

The Alex Bbq December 14, 2008

Filed under: Contented, Eat Shit Sleep Post, Events — ponnie @ 5:35 pm

So very surprisingly I managed to go for Alex’s little party on Saturday! Got Davin to fetch me too, and see my mum, as she was complaining she doesn’t know how Davin looks like. It’s not like she knew we were together though. But I do hope she approved, ’cause he was looking and smelling very yummeh. Guys who have effortless style are so good looking.

Anyway, I had Davin pick me up earlier as I wanted to go to 1 Utama to buy a bag from Esprit for my mother (it was a surprise!) at 40% off all thanks to Apple. But I thought she worked in the new wing so I went there and got directed to the old wing. I had to buy two items at a regular price before I could get the bag at 40% off, so I bought the cheapest items there – socks. I wanted to buy a pair of flip flops, but they were priced at a futhamucking rm49 something, I thought twice. I liked the newsboy cap a lot, but it was rm89. the socks were rm16 and rm20 respectively which imho is very outrageously priced for socks, but whatever makes my mother happy so yeah.

Then we helped Alex buy mince lamb and a bottle of Dolmio’s Classic Tomato sauce. And off to the party we went. Basically the party consisted of Spartans and a few of MAD’s high school mates. Only four girls, and the rest were all males. We had a grand time making crude jokes out of barbequeing fishballs and sausages and chickens and drinking alcohol.

Seriously, I think these few months of me being in practical solitude has made me a more innocent person. It was so cathartic being in the party – making crude jokes, showing bad gestures and whatnot. I feel like a whole new person. Many thanks to Mx for giving me GG Season 2! I just watched one episode (I’ve been busy the whole day) and I’m dying to watch another. I miss GG so much!

That, and drinking red wine while swinging oneself on the swing is very fun. Very fun indeed.

We left the party at 10-ish and I had a look at Davin’s house. If you know what I mean.

Arrived home at around 11-ish, nearing 12. Possibly the latest I’ve reached home, without my parents! I feel so grown up. Predictably the father was still waiting up, but thankfully the mother has already gone to sleep, so I don’t need to hear no nagging.

All in all, it was a fun party! Can’t wait till next year when we’ll have even more parties – and alcohol.

These eyes have clarity July 14, 2008

Filed under: Contented, In My Humble Opinion, Randoms — ponnie @ 1:50 pm

Among all of the five senses of the human body, I think the one I treasure most is sight. The ability to see; everyone dismisses its importance, its value, but when robbed of it, you can’t help but feel so helpless.

I was 11 years old when I discovered I needed spectacles. We had the annual eye tests in school, and I found out that I couldn’t see the chart as clearly as the others. It was blurry, and the first emotion that ran through me was fear. Fear because of a few things; I can’t see clearly, which means I needed spectacles, which leads to telling my mum I can’t see clearly, which then leads her to nagging me for reading in dim lighting too much and wasting her money.

I put that matter aside, anyway. I thought that as long as I could still see the blackboard, I didn’t need them. When I was 12, I sat nearer to the front in class. At times when the teacher would switch our places, I’d have to see from my friend’s exercise books to copy down what was written on the blackboard.

When I was in secondary school, I mustered the courage to tell my mother that I needed spectacles. As predicted, I got a helluva nagging from her. My spectacles’ power was around 100 or so. I kind of liked my spectacles, but I don’t wear them all the time.

At one point I started wearing them more often in school, and my classmate said that the guy I was crushing on doesn’t like girls who wear spectacles. I admit, I was vain even back then (not like vanity did much to my looks). So I stopped wearing my spectacles often, and limited them to only during classes, when I needed them most.

When I was 15, a lot of people told me my spectacles looked childish. Also, they were becoming not as clear as they used to be. Plus, the paint was chipping. So my excuse to my mum was that my power increased. Needless to say, she wasn’t happy. My second pair of spectacles’ power was 200 in each eye.

Even with my new spectacles, I didn’t wear them all the time. Some people said my face was too plain; I’d look better with the spectacles decorating my face (what bullshit). But I didn’t think I looked any better with my spectacles, so I didn’t wear them all the time.

After high school came university. By then, everyone who knew me knew my trademark quote, “I can’t see, I’m not wearing my specs.”

It became a pain, not being able to see people from afar, leading them to think I’m plain stuck up just because I didn’t wave at them from far. I know, because one of my new classmates this year said that to me.

“People who don’t know you think that you’re lanci, but actually you just can’t see them. Haha.”

Was it a classmate or a friend? I forgot.

I’ve been telling my friends since last year that once I moved to Kampar, I’d get myself contact lenses. Why only when I move to Kampar? Simple. My parents don’t allow me to wear contact lenses, so the only way would be to get it without them knowing.

I delayed it all, till last month, I finally got the initiative to get my contact lenses. No, Sam, it’s not because you said I looked weird wearing specs when I have eyeliner on. -_-

I feel like a new person when I wear my contact lenses! Hello, clear vision! It amazes me so much now that I can see everything so clearly, I can see things in the distance, and everything is just so sparkly and pristine now that I have clear vision.

It’s like taking pictures from a camera phone and a DSLR. The details in the DSLR are awesome!!

Every night when I go out I feel so happy that I can see the world in shiny lights. I used to see them as blurry, foggy, dim lights.

Now they’re all so sparkly. <3 Especially after the rain.

I love my contact lenses. Next to try: colour contacts!

This is gonna be an extremely gay post; you have been warned.

I went out with my boyfriend yesterday after he picked me up from the LRT station. <3 He looked so yummeh in his long sleeved rolled up tee and three quarter pants!

Thanks for lunch and the Mc Flurry dear. I know it must’ve pained you to let me eat the Mc Flurry even though I’m having a cough. =X

I wish I could hang out with you longer and more often. Sigh. Hope you are having fun with the two gays plus Thompson now.

Mwah! xD

Good day ahead July 10, 2008

Filed under: Contented, Eat Shit Sleep Post — ponnie @ 2:40 am

It’s only 10.34 in the morning, but I have a feeling I’m gonna have a good day ahead. ^^ A bit too early to judge, I know, but I guess once you’ve woken up on the right side on the bed, nothing can ruin your mood.

*big shiny smile*

Okay, so maybe an 8am class isn’t something that would put a smile on your face; but I didn’t skip my class. I woke up, gave myself an extra 5 minutes to snooze, and forced myself to shower. Once inside the shower, my entire system is awake. ^^

If that wasn’t good enough, I still had time to boil water to make coffee and breakfast for myself. I’m not usually a coffee person, but since I’m still having a cough I can’t drink Milo – sigh. Nevertheless! Coffee is good enough, plus two pieces of peanut butter sandwiches. Shush, I know I’m not supposed to eat peanut butter too.

A full Ponnie in the morning is a happy Ponnie. *nods* Such a simple concoction that I have never realized. Or maybe I have, just that it’s not so significant at times.

Add breakfast plus no need to take the bus – absolute bliss! Brian’s class is at 8am today too so hohohoho don’t need to take the bus.

And I wore my scarf to school today. I feel so stylish. Ahem.

Am back home now and just finished my laundry, class at 3pm later. My classes end at 7pm today, hopefully I’ll still be in a good mood by the time this day is over.

Here’s to a good day ahead. :)
